Positive Behaviour Support Worker: Nuneaton

This is a graduate-level post, ideally for those with either Psychology or Health & Social Care degree This an exciting opportunity to join the Positive Behaviour Support team within Vestige Healthcare. This role requires you to act as a positive and therapeutic role model for the assessment and support of people in our care.

You will be directly supporting individuals with learning disabilities and/or autism, mental health problems and complex behaviours, providing a high level of expertise, advice and support to staff on the implementation of Positive Behaviour Support.

You will provide training and development of all staff regarding positive behaviour management. This role offers a real opportunity to have a positive impact on the lives of our patients. You will undertake functional behaviour assessments and develop and implement positive behaviour support plans as part of a wider MDT, with a focus on quality of life and well-being.

You will also regularly conduct restrictive practice audits to ensure that our patients are supported in the least restrictive way. Additionally, you will attend multi-disciplinary meetings, and conduct debriefs and reflective practice.

This is a new role to Vestige Healthcare and we envisage that it will become a significant and beneficial part of our the care and support of people in our care. In the future there is a potential that this role will develop into a community outreach service, providing training and support to community services.

SEN Teacher: Dudley Port & Nuneaton


Vestige Healthcare are currently looking to appoint a passionate and enthusiastic SEN teacher for our brand new Residential Support Service in Nuneaton. The position will be working predominately with 14-18 year old young people in our care, who have a range of Special Education Needs. You will work closely with a full MDT Team to engage and interact with the young people in our care to enable them to be able to access to curriculum fully.

The role will work with young people in our care individually or in small groups and will work towards reaching learning targets and there will be daily planning involved.

We require a motivated, skilled and resilient SEN Teacher with experience in supporting young people on the autistic spectrum. The right candidate will be someone who can demonstrate the following:

· Energy, enthusiasm and the ability to teach effectively

· You will need to be confident and organised

· A flexible, adaptive and versatile approach with the ability to meet the changing needs of our young people.

· Previous experience of working with young people who have complex communication issues in a SEN environment, along with knowledge of working with ASD and those with mild/moderate learning disabilities

· Have PECS and Makaton training/experience

· A knowledge of the Thrive or other programmes that hold young people with high regard.

With the support of colleagues, you will develop your skills, confidence and experience to deal with the challenging behaviour that some of our young people can, at times, exhibit. Enthusiasm, willingness to learn and emotional resilience are essential attributes.

You will be responsible for teaching of core subjects.

You will join a supportive and experienced MDT team with dedicated support staff. Full training and development will be provided along with an induction programme.

· To play an active role in mentoring and developing the Skills Assistants through formal and informal training and development intervention as required.

· Participate in the supervision of Skills Assistants as directed by the senior team members.

· Ensure within the ethos of the unit the highest standard of care for each individual patient, assisting them in ensuring that their daily needs are met. This will include their hygiene, dietary, educational, skills acquisition and self-help needs.

· To act at all times as a positive role model for patients and staff members.

· In liaison with colleagues ensure that the physical environment for patients is appropriate and supports the highest standards of care.

· Communicate effectively with all members of multi-disciplinary team and to develop a positive rapport with the patients.

· To undertake the formal induction process of newly employed Skills Assistants including signing off each area in which must be competent.

· Maintains accurate records, including service user files, and databases, and undertake all quantitative and qualitative monitoring within expected timeframes.

· Work within the framework of policies and procedures, particularly in terms of confidentiality and safeguarding children and adults at risk.

· Take on additional operational roles as instructed by the Service Director

· To support in the developing of training and conferencing for care providers on how best to meet the needs of people with additional needs through regulatory review and training.

Assistant Psychologist: Dudley Port, Nuneaton & West Bromwich

Vestige Healthcare Ltd are seeking a motivated Assistant Psychologist to work across our 3 in-patient Mental Health & Learning Disability services in West Bromwich, Dudley Port & Nuneaton.

Under supervision from the Director of Therapies & team Clinical Psychologists you will be required to apply a range of methods & measures in order to undertake clinical assessment & formulation for the people in our care. You will provide the Therapy Team with support in delivering professional and highly specialised individual & group interventions & you will be integral to promoting a culture of active, formulation-driven rehabilitation, compassionate care & psychologically-informed environments across our 3 sites.

The position is full-time, with flexible working hours & 28 days annual leave & statutory sickness & pension provision. Salary is between £18,000-21,000 dependent on experience. Travel across the 3 sites (Dudley Port, West Bromwich & Nuneaton) is essential but travel expenses (mileage or train fares) will be reimbursed. You will be offered a comprehensive programme of CPD & supervision to support your personal & professional development in line with Vestige Healthcare organisational values.

You need to be committed to excellent care & be able to work both independently & as part of a wider multi-disciplinary team.

Service Manager: West Bromwich

Job Purpose:

1. To undertake the management of the assigned services and maintain their effective operation at all times.

2. The post holder should be aware that they will be required to successfully register with the Care Quality Commission as a Service Manager as an essential criteria of the role.

3. To work within a flexible 24-hour rota system, across the allocated services, including evenings, weekends and occasional nights. Generally the post holder will be expected to work 40 hours per week, Monday – Friday during the usual day time hours 9am – 5pm, however there is an expectation that once a month the post holder will work outside of these hours to ensure staff compliance to allocated activities and that night staff remain active throughout their shift.


Main Tasks: 

Service Delivery:

1. Undertake continuous monitoring of all aspects of service delivery, ensuring the provision of high quality nursing care in accordance with Care Quality Commission and Commissioning Standards, Company policies and procedures and good practice guidance.

2. Be responsible for reporting all notifiable incidents/events to the relevant regulatory body/external agency.

3. Take the lead role in Clinical Governance across the service ensuring that regular meetings are held and that all aspects of governance are addressed, monitored and all appropriate actions taken.

4. Implement and have active involvement in a rolling audit programme to ensure quality standards are regularly monitored, and any resulting action plans are devised, implemented and monitored, directing the ROLE as required.

5. Ensure that all service users have person centred care plans and that all care documentation including risk assessments and treatment/care plans for all service users, from pre-admission to discharge, are active documents and that care is being delivered consistently to the expected standard.

6. Work with other professional colleagues, purchasers and commissioners to ensure that the service users’ best interests are identified and plans are established to meet them.

7. Ensure that effective and efficient recording systems are established and maintained.

8. Manage any complaints in accordance with Vestige Healthcare policy and procedure, ensuring that service users have access to the procedure and are supported in this process. 

Service Development:

1. Actively market the service and action all appropriate referrals and assessments in liaison with the marketing team.

2. Take a lead role in assessing the position of the services within the market and identifying new opportunities.

3. Take a lead role in policy development. 

Resource Management:

1. Undertake the effective management and administration of the services being responsible for budgetary management. This will include responsibility for auditing financial transactions/systems.

2. Manage all allocated human resource in accordance with Vestige Healthcare’s policies and procedures, liaising with the HR team as appropriate.

3. Take the lead role in the recruitment of new employees to the service ensuring that a safe and effective recruitment process is followed.

4. Ensure that all new employees are appropriately inducted into the service and that the Company’s Probationary Policy is followed.

5. Take a lead role in the Company’s Induction Programme

6. Ensure that the appropriate skill mix is available to meet the clinical demands of the service.

7. Ensure that all staff are appropriately skilled, trained and developed.

8. Actively monitor the performance of the staff team to ensure all employed within service are working to the required standard, and taking appropriate and timely action when performance falls below the expected standard.

9. Manage sickness/absence issues in accordance with Vestige Healthcare’s policy.

10. Work with the HR team as required.
